Business Development Representative
Akira is looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our sales team.
This role is crucial for identifying and generating new business opportunities to support our SMB Mid-Market sales strategy and product launch. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, is a fanatical prospector, possess excellent communication skills, and a passion for sales and customer success in the restaurant and hospitality sector.
You'd be responsible for things like:
- Lead Generation and Qualification: Unearth potential clients in the restaurant and hospitality sectors through diligent research. Utilize cold calling, email campaigns, and LinkedIn to engage prospects, qualify leads, and arrange sales team appointments for sustained lead flow and revenue growth.
- Proactive Prospecting: Commit to extensive prospecting activities, including cold calling, email marketing, social media outreach, and participation in Akira events. Focus on continuously growing the sales pipeline with vigor and tenacity.
- Executive Team Collaboration: Partner with the Akira Leadership Team to grasp their requirements, supplying them with quality leads and opportunities, and aiding in strategic sales plan formulation and execution.
- CRM Management: Keep CRM records precise and current, capturing all sales actions like calls, meetings, and follow-ups, to facilitate smooth sales operations and reporting.
- Market Research: Keep abreast of industry trends, challenges, and the competitive landscape to refine sales strategies and initiatives.
- Performance Tracking: Consistently monitor and report on lead generation and qualification efforts to align with sales goals and objectives.
We'll be looking for the following job requirements:
- Experience: 1-2 years in sales, marketing, or related fields, with a preference for backgrounds in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Prior BDR or lead generation experience is a significant plus.
- Education: An Associate Degree in Communications or related experience with a proven BDR track record in the hospitality sector is preferred.
- Skills and Attributes: Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, expertise in social selling (notably on LinkedIn), organizational skills, self-motivation, and a strong prospecting passion. Knowledge of the restaurant and hospitality industry is advantageous.
- Knowledge: Proficiency in HubSpot CRM, G-Suite, Microsoft Solutions, LinkedIn, modern data sources, and standard business tools.
- Characteristics: Independent, proactive "doer" with a hunting spirit, teamwork ethic, coachability, and accountability. Must be keen on learning, with efficient time management and a disciplined daily routine.

This is a fully remote position with a salary of $60,000 CAD, with performance-based incentives, open to candidates in the Eastern (UTC-5) to Pacific (UTC-8) timezones.
